Strengthening Disaster Response for Survivors of Domestic Violence, Dating Violence, Sexual Assault and Stalking
BWJP received a grant from the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office on Violence Against Women’s Training and Technical Assistance Initiative to provide tools and training to assist communities in addressing the unique concerns for survivors of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault and stalking in the context of climate disasters and public health crises, by weaving tailored responses into emergency preparedness work.
Survivor organizations across the country have done tremendous work developing crisis response tools and resources. A gap that this project has sought to address is to identify opportunities to share this expertise with the emergency management personnel, including through local CCR teams. This training can be adapted by local teams to bridge that expertise.
This project was supported by Grant No. 15JOVW-24-GK-03030-STOP awarded by the Office on Violence Against Women, U.S. Department of Justice.
